Subject: SHAKSPER Addressing
Dear Fellow SHAKSPEReans;
Many thanks to the fourteen members who have sent me full Internet versions
of their Bitnet addresses; I look forward to receiving addresses from
the other 46 in the recent listing at their earliest convenience.
In most cases, I have now switched SHAKSPER mailings to the
Internet addresses (where I know them). Unfortunately, I cannot ask
you to let me know if you DON'T receive this, but hopefully error
messages will tell me where I have made clear mistakes. If you
are receiving two copies of these mailings, please let me know and
I will rectify the situation immediately.
To those of you whose Bitnet addresses HAVE no Internet version,
DO NOT PANIC! Do NOT run out to GET an Internet address, and do NOT
lose sleep or hair! The SHAKSPER listserv and fileserver will not be
affected by this switch to UNIX and the Internet, so you will still
receive mailings and access files as always. The Internet address, where
available, will give private correspondence with me (personally) an added
measure of reliability and efficiency. But the local experts are beginning
to suspect that Internet addresses will not be absolutely NECESSARY --
welcome news indeed.
The remainder of the technical changes here in Toronto will have very
little effect upon members of SHAKSPER. I will remain a little more
silent than usual for several more days, but I invite members to resume their
usually lively discussion at any time. Just remember to send your
submissions to <SHAKSPER@utoronto> rather than my personal address;
ListServ will see to it that submissions are sent to the appropriate
Thanks again for all your patience and assistance.
