Subject: Folger Coriolanus
I'm researching a seminar paper on the Coriolanus performance at the
Folger last September which will try to get at the political implications
of the performance in the post-context of the Iraq war. You might call
it Contemporary Historicism.
I'm wondering if there have been any reviews of the play published in
scholarly periodicals. The Folger sent me copies of all the reviews
from D.C. area newspapers. In particular, can someone tell me if there
was a review in the Shakespeare Bulletin? Cornell, inexplicably, doesn't
subscribe.
Comments of any sort -- on the Folger performance, other relevant performances,
methodological concerns -- would be welcome and might provoke some interesting
discussion...
