SHAKESPEARE PRODUCTIONS THIS SUMMER:
One more for an already impressively varied list --
*Midsummer Night's Dream* and *Merchant of Venice*, presented by the
Lymington Players in the garden of South End House, Lymington, Hampshire
(about 2 hours by train from London; small Georgian haven on the Solent),
July 23-25.
Acting in the true Wood-Near-Athens tradition; costumes in the Merrie
Englande/ye olde curtains mode; a few rain-drenched mosquitoes; and the
loveliest garden in England. Good wine in the interval. Furthermore, all
the performances will be live, full-size and in 3-D. Who knows when or
where Thespis may descend? I wouldn't miss it for anything.
