Comment: Re: SHK 3.0153 Rose and Globe Sites Update
Just a note to correct the statement that the first Globe is being re-
constructed. Actually, it is the second Globe (1613) that is being re-
built, since information on it is better available. But I'm sorry that
so little of the Rose Theatre excavation is accessible--I suppose because
"Rose Court" remains unoccupied. Anchor Terrace, in the Register of
Historical Houses, is what prevents more work being done on the Globe
excavation, I believe.

Subject: Teaching Shakespearean Drama and Modern Adaptations
A colleague and I are in the early stages of planning to team-teach a
course that will pair some of Shakespeare's plays with twentieth-century
revisions/adaptations/appropriations, so it seemed only natural to see if
any members of SHAKSPER have any advice or suggestions. I'd be interested in
hearing from anyone who has taught (or contemplated) such a course.

The 2 Gents were at the Swan in Stratford for the 1991 season, directed
by D. Thacker, unless I'm wrong. I'll try to post the review *Cahiers
Elisabethains* published about it. What I cannot post is the pictures,
particularly that of Richard Moore, playing Launce with his very
expressive dog.
