For Steve Schrum on 12th Night and more on spinoffs

From Luc Borot

All the information needed about any musical performance and
stage-music in/from/on Shakespeare is in Gooch and Thatcher (not HER...)
A Shakespeare Music Catalogue, OUP, 1991. (If not OUP, then Clarendon
Press). It's marvellous: all libraries should own it for their drama or
Shakespeare scholars (8 volumes I think).

About something different, but still about music. The current
information exchange about Shrew reminds me of our spinoff file. Shall
we also include musical derivations? Then I think we must add Berlioz's
Symphonic Poem *Romeo et Juliette*, which is not an operatic version
like Verdi's Macbeth, but a compendium in its own right. I thought to
suggest it when it was on the air last week on France Musique radio.

        Yours, Luc.
