Subject:        Audiences
 
I have two questions arising from incipient research projects that I
would like to ask:
 
1)  What are the most authoritative texts on the gender composition
of Shakespeare's audience?
 
2)  Is any information available on the conditions of dissemination
of Elizabethan sonnets?  I.e. in what form were they circulated, to
what audiences, and what was the likelihood of the addressee being
part of the audience?  That sort of thing.
