Subject: Pronunciation question
How should the "a" be pronouced in the following:
NURSE: ...I'll take him down, and a were lustier
than he is, and twenty such jacks.
I know it means "he" but I've heard it pronounced like
"ah," "eee," and "ay." Are any of these "correct" or is the
pronunciation controversial? Or is it a dialect?
