Subject: Trevor Nunn's New Twelfth Night
In the new film, Feste is seen in one of the opening scenes observing Viola's
landing on shore. She discards a necklace. In one of the very last scenes,
Feste ceremoniously returns the necklace to her. Because of his age and
omnipresence (and because of judicious cutting of the text), this Feste seems
more like Gravity than Folly. But exactly how much is he supposed to know
about Viola and her disguise? Any theories? E. Pearlman

Actually, it's something of a joint enterprise between the two women, though
Ms. Linklater may in fact be the titular head of the company.
Thanks for the clarification!
