Subject: SHAKSPER Ether Demon Alert

Dear SHAKSPEReans,

During the past few days, several members have inquired about not seeing their
submissions posted to the Conference. From all appearances, there is an ether
demon at work, and I do not as yet have a clue about what has happened. We did
have some work on the campus network recently, but I cannot be sure of the
cause of so many lost submissions. Let me take a moment to comment on my
procedures.

I try to turn around submissions within a day (sometime two on weekends). If
for any reason I decide not to post a submission, I inform the submitter of
such and my reasons for rejecting it. So if you send me something and do not
see it the following day, I probably did not receive it and you should
resubmit.

Any submissions sent to the list address -- This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. -- are
forwarded to me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. You may decide to send your
submissions directly to me at this latter address, a VAX account. I have other
accounts, but I have decided for the time being to continue to use the VAX
account for SHAKSPER editing rather than using an account on the SUN work
station or my principal University account.

I am sorry that submissions have been lost recently, and I will continue to
monitor the situation.
