Another cultural adaptation you might want to take a look at is Aime
Cesaire's _A Tempest_, a Maartinican version ot  _The Tempest_.

You indeed did spell Kabuki correctly, and along this vein, I was
wondering if anyone out there in computer land knew anything about the
Thai adaptations of Shakespeare.
