Subject: Restored Globe
I will be teaching my annual undergraduate "Topics in Theatre History"
course this spring, this time on the topic of theatre architecture,
audiences, stage conventions, and the special case of theatrical
*re*construction. A big chunk of the syllabus will be dedicated to the
Globe reconstruction.
Does anyone have any suggestions about recent scholarship that discusses
the Globe reconstruction in relation to the politics of the "heritage"
industry, or that discusses the whole question of reconstruction and
audiences? I welcome suggestions, on or off the list.
Thanks,
Cary
