We almost never update the language, and just the other night I was told
by an audience member how much she was looking forward to Shrew in the
spring, because our Shakespeares are always perfectly clear.

One strategy I offer my actors with difficult passages is to strip away
everything from a line except the subject and verb. Establish the
sentence, and then start loading the rest of the pieces back in. Learn
to juggle all the bits around the basic syntax.
