Subject: Shakespeare Spin-offs

Dear Shakespereans,

May I kindly ask you some advice? 1)I am deeply interested in
Shakespeare spin-offs, and in my doctoral paper I would like to focus my
attention on this area, but the theme "Shakespeare Spin-offs in
Contemporary Culture", which really appeals to me, certainly should be
narrowed. Can you recommend me possible ways of doing it? Which plays
are seemed to be more interesting to analyse in the framework of modern
literature (I think about "Hamlet" or "Tempest" as the most worthy 2)
Can you tell me about some more Tempest spin-offs not included in the
list of Shakespeare Spin-offs kindly compiled by our honorable editor?
3) Can somebody see some parallels between "Macbeth" and "The Big Sleep"
by an American detective novelist Raymond Chandler?

Thank you beforehand.

Sincerely Yours,
Ilona Goldmane
