Subject: Twelfth Night Sheet Music

Richard A. Burt asks, "Does anyone happen to know how I might get the
sheet music for "The Rain It Raineth Every Day"? I particularly liked
the arrangement on the BBC video, but am not aware of the composer(s)."

The sheet music is reprinted from Mahood on the last page of the Arden
edition (eds. JM Lothian and TW Craik). The composer, apparently, is
unknown as is the composition date. The Arden editors, refer us to a
book called *Music in Shakespearean Tragedy*. The 12N with Helena
Bonham Carter is very musical and because it is out on video, might be
out on a soundtrack.

All the best,
Scott Oldenburg

Comment: RE: SHK 9.0703 Q: Twelfth Night Sheet Music

There's a beautiful setting of the song by David Amram. I believe it
was originally composed for a production of the play, but was later
incorporated into the score for Amram's opera version of Twelfth Night.
