There have been recent inquiries about the availability of John Barton's
"Playing Shakespeare" (released in 1984) as well as Trevor Nunn's
productions of "Macbeth" (with Ian McKellen and Judi Dench in 1979) and
"Othello" (with McKellen, Willard White as Othello and Imogen Stubbs as
Desdemona in 1989). I have purchased all of these (and according to the
1998 catalog) are still available through Films for the Humanities &
Sciences.

This may be an obvious source; perhaps they sell only to institutions
and not individuals. The tapes are quite expensive ($159 for "Othello,"
$89.95 for "Macbeth" and each of the 11 Barton tapes), so this may not
be helpful info. The website is http://www.films.com.

I saw it at Waterstone's bookstore near the University of London two
years ago. If it is still in print, they can no doubt order it for you.

I have seen it for sale in the National Theatre Bookshop in London.
