Subject: Edward Pudsey

A colleague has asked me to comment on a publishing proposal regarding
Edward Pudsey's commonplace book. I'd be grateful if anyone who knows it
could give me their views on whether it deserves to be more widely

(Pudsey's commonplace book is an MS in the Bodleian library and, as far
as I know, hasn't been published. It contains extracts from Shakespeare,
Dekker, Jonson, Marston and Webster and also quotes from Machiavelli,
Guicciardini and other continental writers. There's a short article on
Pudsey's extract from Hamlet in N&Q, 1992, pp.330-1.)

With thanks,
Robin Headlam Wells
