LION (Literature Online), a multiple database by Chadwyck-Healey that
includes complete downloadable texts of a very large number of works,
grouped into early modern prose fiction (1500-1700), prose and verse
drama (4000 plays, 1280-1915: essentially the entire drama canon in
English), versions of the Bible (990-1970), many editions of
Shakespeare, essentially all of English Poetry, and much much more
(including lots of English literature from other periods).

For UT (University of Texas) users, access to LION can be obtained on
the UT web, via Libraries/Indexes, Abstracts, and Full-Text/LION. (Note:
UT does not currently subscribe to the C-H Early English Prose Fiction

Note further: the exact accuracy and reliability of LION texts varies;
they key in particular texts, usually unedited ones from before
copyright concerns arise, and do not always choose to work from the
exact text a scholar would prefer.

The form of this entry is keyed to University of Texas library
operations. Different libraries and universities will have varied access
to LION, subscribe to different parts, etc. Many will look something
like UT's.
