Subject: Tape Recorded Shakespeare Lectures and Seminars

When (1974-77) I was an undergraduate at the University of Durham I was
lucky to be taught Shakespeare (and other authors) by David Crane, a
quite uniquely gifted and inspirational lecturer with many distinguished
publications to his credit.

In recent years, David's students have tape-recorded over 50 of his
lectures and seminars, many of them on Shakespeare. Hitherto they have
been shared with friends and circulated privately, but now they can be
ordered (as cassettes) on the internet by visiting
http://www.worldwidebooks.com and following the links to 'the
Bookshelves'. The tapes I have heard (including one on 'Hamlet') have
been really thought-provoking. I thought fellow SHAKSPEReans might be
interested. Full details are on the site.
