Subject: Stage Blood

Can anyone point me to a source of information on stage blood in the
Elizabethan era. I've questioned my local colleagues and searched some
of the more obvious tomes with no luck. I vaguely remember reading
about bladders filled with animal blood, but I can't recall if the
reference was in regard to the Elizabethan stage or if it was
trustworthy. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Regards,
Lyn Dohaney
