For all things cinematic, try the internet movie database at
www.imdb.com. They list two movies in 1999, one called Titus and the
other Titus Andronicus. Titus is the often discussed Anthony Hopkins,
Jessica Lange production, directed by Julie Taymor. The database lists
it at

http://us.imdb.com/Title?0120866

P.S.: Sorry, I meant to ask what a space-opera is?

Julie Taymor's production, filmed mostly in Rome, with Anthony Hopkins
as Titus and Jessica Lange as (I think) Lavinia, is probably not a
space-opera, though Taymor is best known for her costumes for the stage
production of The Lion King.

In the area of related gossip, I had read that Sir Anthony Hopkins had
renounced acting and was never going to do it again. Now I read that
there is a sequel to Silence of the Lambs in the works and that Hopkins
is enthusiastic about recapitulating the role of Hannibal Lector.
What's true, in either of those stories (from one who still thinks his
Othello the most subtle and convincing on record).

This is for Ed Friedlander, and any others interested in news about
forthcoming movies:

Lots and lots of information about the upcoming TITUS ANDRONICUS (not
quite a space opera, though) can be found on the internet. I suggest
the COMING ATTRACTIONS database as a kind of one-stop-shopping outlet.
The URL is

        http://corona.bc.ca/films/

Also, there were some nifty photos in a recent issue of VANITY FAIR.

        Best,

The Internet Movie Database lists the title as Titus and says that the
film is in post-production; they have a full cast and list, but not
much more at this point. The official site is
http://www.clearblueskyfilms.com/lowband/films/, but it has only the
film title with a "coming soon" flag.
