VISITING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
The University of Vermont is seeking a Visiting Assistant Professor in
Shakespeare Studies to serve as a one-year replacement for a faculty
member on leave. The successful applicant will be well-prepared to
explore Shakespeare with undergraduates, and committed to teaching. S/he
will teach six courses, including two sections of Shakespeare survey and
one course in close reading of literary texts in the fall; and three
sections of Shakespeare and/or Renaissance drama and/or his/her
Renaissance specialty in the spring. Course enrollments are capped at
30. Salary for the nine months is $31,000 for candidates with the
Ph.D., which is strongly preferred, although advanced ABD's may apply.
The position is for the period August 27, 1999 - May 15, 2000.
