At the end of "The Tempest," Prospero frees Ariel, of course, but does
he allow Caliban to remain on the island, or might he take him back to
Milan?

I have always assumed that Caliban once again became the king of his own
isle, and I have never read an argument to the contrary. But have such
claims been made?
