Tulane's Summer Shakespeare Festival will feature Antony and Cleopatra
from June 10 through July 4, and Twelfth Night from June 24 through July
18. Tickets are $20 except on Sundays which are "pay what you will"
nights-at least a dollar, but otherwise any amount. Call them at (504)
865-5015 for details.
On June 5, the summer festival krewe is hosting the Shakespeare on the
Bayou Soiree. Cleopatra in a pirogue? Antony wrestling alligators?
Viola finds a job at Lucky Cheng's? It could happen.
I heard a rumor earlier this year that Dog and Pony, the company
responsible for last summer's Othello in City Park, is planning a
promenade production of Midsummer Night's Dream for this year, but I
haven't been able to confirm that.
