Thanks for all the suggestions about visual imagery in the Pyrrhus
speech.
For those interested, "A thousand moral paintings I can show/ That shall
demonstrate those quick blows of Fortune...." Some relevant bookplates
appear in Bk II of "Eneidos (clxxiv.v) in Sebastian Brandt's "Publii
Virgilii Maronis Opere" (Argentinae, 1502); woodcuts and single-sheet
engravings of Trojan War are collected at Biblio.nat., Cabinet des
Estampes (Courbain, 836 and Collection de Mythologique, T47). Newberry
Library has illustrated editions of Aeneid. I have not yet checked the
Brit. lib. prints collection.
