When I read of the proposal to trash the online archive of church
history at American U., I thought of the Areopagitica, where Milton says
in effect 'as soon kill a man as kill a book.' (Text not at hand,
alas.)
Surely there must be a university or monastery or something somewhere in
the world that would be glad to have this archive and would take over
hosting it!

I will forward this message to OCLC Online Computer Library Center.
Someone else could try the Library of Congress, perhaps Alice Birney at
LC could help. Perhaps the whole could be migrated some way to one of
these repositories/services.
