S & Co. has within their Summer Performance Institute something called
"Teachers and Actors: putting S in the hands of adolescents" an
Education Program said to be "Supported by the NEA and the NEH"
It appears to last 1 month and cost $1,800.
With luck and planning, you could probably see 4 different Shakespeare
plays at S & Co in July, and 3 or more in Boston: adult and student
companies at the Publick Theatre, Commonwealth Shakespeare, grad
students at the ART Institute-plus whatever other local companies have
scheduled W S: this summer there were an additional 3
There is a wonderful website, <www.theatermirror.com> that lists
upcoming performances in New England, reviews many of them, and links to
the websites of regional theatres large and small, including ambitious
high schools and colleges.
