The discussion of Shakespeare-related place names has taken on more
momentum than I would have supposed. Let me refer the interested
multitudes to Albert Spencer, POB 6 Angelus Oaks, Calif 92305, if he is
still alive and well, or least his "The Philatellic Shakespeare" a
self-published catalog from about 1987 that includes all stamps with a
Shakespeare theme and many other attractive features, including lists of
Shakespeare-related postmarks and, going back to the pre-postage stamp
days when mail was delivered by packet boats, Shakespeare-related boat
names. Allowing for the inconclusive Troys and Florences, there are
enough Ophelias, Cordelias, Romeos, Desdemonas, and Portias to satisfy
the doubters and encourage enthusiasts to brighten their wallmaps with
colored pins.
