Subject: Window Dressing
Broke my glasses. Anyone stopping by Union Square Optical at 9 West 14th
Street in Manhattan, take a gander at the windows: Midsummer Night's
Dream and Macbeth. In the former, a beheaded Ken or GI Joe has been
fitted with a disproportionately small ass's head as he lolls in
Titania's lap whilst winged fairies made from Barbie's siblings hover
overhead. In the latter, Ken lies on an opulent sofa with a dagger
sticking out of his chest, and a spreading stain of blood, as Lady
Barbie Macbeth struggles with washing her hands.
