Subject: Ardenonline Individual Subscriptions Now Available

Dear SHAKSPER members:

As we indicated, the free trial subscription period to Ardenonline ends
today, 1 September 1999. We are delighted to announce that we are now
offering personal paid subscriptions to Ardenonline as well as
institutional ones. Full details of all of the subscription options are
available from our new Ardenonline website at
http://www.ardenshakespeare.com/ardenonline/. The new site also contains
expanded information about the service, including screenshots and
details of how Ardenonline can be used in teaching and research.

An institutional subscription to Ardenonline allows unlimited access for
students and faculty members, wherever they are on campus, and even
allows access for students on distance learning courses. The licence
agreement is permissive. Prices are dependent on the size of the
institution, with substantial discounts available for those institutions
which are members of library consortia. The Arden Shakespeare will be
pleased to make trial subscriptions available at no charge for consortia
and/or institutions who would like to evaluate the service. Full details
of the prices, the licence, and who you or your library colleagues
should contact to purchase a susbcription to Ardenonline or arrange
trial access, are available from the website at
http://www.ardenshakespeare.com/ardenonline/.

Subscriptions from schools, public libraries, theatres and other
organisations interested in Shakespeare are also welcomed, and special
pricing is available. Please contact us for further information.

Personal subscriptions to Ardenonline will be available from September
1, 1999 at the price of one hundred British pounds per year
(approximately one hundred and sixty US dollars). The licence agreement
for personal users is designed for those who wish to use the service for
their own personal research. For full information and the individual
subscribers' licence agreement, please see the website.

Please note: customers in the United Kingdom who are not registered for
VAT will need to pay VAT at 17.5%, making the cost of Ardenonline in the
