I am probably not the right person to answer, being only a contributing
editor, but the new Cambridge Complete Works is intended to replace
Herford and Simpson as the . It will contain everything, and will be
published in both a printed, modernised text, with full annotation (in
five volumes) and an electronic text which will also include both
original printed and MS texts, an original-spelling edition
hypertextually cross-referenced with the modernized text and a great
deal more besides.

The general editors are David Bevington, Martin Butler and Ian
Donaldson, with David Gants as Electronic Editor, and the projected has
been supported by a major grant from the Arts and Humanities Research
Board for five years. In the UK the work for the edition will be based
at the Universities of Leeds and Cambridge, with Research Associates in
each.

The planned publication date, simultaneously in printed and electronic
form, is 2005
