Subject: Palladis Tamia
My thanks to the respondents who identified _Palladis Tamia_ as Greek.
I had previously noticed the similarity to the Latin for 'Thames'
Tamesis -is m. or Tamesa -ae f.
but I rejected it because 'Tamia' would not be a proper Latin form.
However, in the punny world of the Elizabethans, I guess any play on
words is possible.
