Shakespeare in Popular Culture
Popular Culture / American Culture Association Conference
Marriott Hotel, New Orleans
April 19-22, 2000
This area welcomes explorations of the Bard's presence in contemporary
popular culture, with a particular interest in the his place in American
culture. Though past papers have largely focused on Shakespeare in
film- as Shakespearean-inspired films have recently proliferated- his
rich influence on popular fiction, music, television, theatre, and other
aspects of popular culture has barely been scratched.
Abstracts of up to 250 words should be sent to Elizabeth Abele,
