Subject:        Directing Richard

Friends:

I am preparing a production of Richard III for next summer at the East
Tennesee Shakespeare in the Park. Of course the fascination lies with
the approach to the central character.  I will be going with the
company's best actor who is fairly large and good-looking. I will add
that my best memory of this play (Pacino and McKellen notwithstanding)
is a production at the Folger with Stacy Keach in the lead.

I would love to hear of any of your experiences tackling this mountain.
