Subject: Time in Measure For Measure

I've just started rehearsals as Escalus in a production of Measure for
Measure. Our dramaturge believes that there is a timeline problem in
this play which requires several emendations. The problems he perceives
center around the time of Claudio's scheduled execution. The delaying
of the execution, to me, is part of the story and not a problem to be
fixed.

Are there any books which discuss the time in this play and any
potential problems? Or, do any of the participants here have views on
how time passes within Shakespeare's Vienna?
