For those who care:

There was a Shakespearean reference in the August 1964 issue of the
comic book Superman. On the first page of the second story (pages are
not numbered) Superman flies by a sign:

WI IAM
SHAKESPEARE
FESTIVAL
400TH
ANNIVERSARY
OF THE
IMMORTAL
BARD'S BIRTH

The two Ls had fallen from the sign and Superman, at the request of the
theater manager, puts them back in place. He notes the letters LL are
those of many people in his life. Lois Lane, Lana Lang, Lex Luthor,
Lori Lemars, and others.

Does anybody really care about these references?
