Re critical dates in Shakespeare's life:

Although it doesn't contain a chronology of months, Andrew Gurr's
<William Shakespeare: The Extraordinary Life . . .> does include
specific months and dates (where known) in the text. The work itself is
a fun, sort of cheesy picture book of Shakespeare's life and career, and
it's packed with information and speculation.

If it's just for this year, then the obvious anniversary is the building
and opening of the Globe in 1599, though this is not quite September.
The play thought to have been written for its opening was Julius Caesar.
Steve Sohmer's recent book Shakespeare's Mystery Play builds a
substantial argument on this point.

Shakespeare was married on November 28 (1582), give or take a day or
two.
