Please excuse if already posted from elsewhere, but I thought that
SHAKSPERIANS, and interested readers would appreciate the news. His
passing is noted with sadness and gratitude for all he gave to
Renaissance studies.

Paul Oskar Kristeller died in his sleep in his apartment in NYC on
Monday, 7 June. One of the last, if not the last, of the great German
emigre scholars in Renaissance studies, he had celebrated his
ninety-fourth birthday on 22 May. Funeral services will take place at
Riverside Chapel, 180 West 76th Street, NYC, at 2:30 PM on Wednesday, 9
June.
