Subject: NY JOHN
In case there hasn't been due notice-I have been away from Email for
awhile-the NYC King John is more than respectable. It is quite amazing
to see how good this play is, particularly in competent hands. The
Falconbridge was especially ironic, condensing both in character and
performance referents from Richard III, Falstaff, and-yes-Kent, both in
irony and fidelity to his flawed master. Some incredibly good moments in
the midst of excellent workmanship. Perhaps it will awaken interest in
the play even further.
