If Carol Light and others like Varley's "The Golden Globe," they might
also enjoy L. Sprague DeCamp's The Compleat Enchanter (recently reissued
as The Complete Compleat Enchanter).  Not exactly Shakespeare, but the
characters do get stuck in The Faerie Queene, with Britomart bearing
down.
