Subject:        Future of the Classics-Is there one?

Hi all

... after reading so many of your wonderful questions and debates I now
have one of my own...

I'm in my final year of my degree and have to base my years research
around a question about what really interests me and where I'm heading.
So here's my question...

'Have the classics got any relevance in today's society and have they
got a future?  Which therefore brings around the question - am I wasting
my time training to be a classical actress?'

I realise that I need to clarify my question further but any opinions,
ideas or pointers to further websites/books/interviews to research from
would be immensely appreciated.
