Subject: Comedy of Errors
Comedy of Errors is not Shakespeare's most challenging or uplifting
play, and not every theater company can handle farce well enough to
salvage the plot line, but I've just seen the Hartford (Conn.) Stage
company's production of the play, and it's laugh-out-loud funny, and
with a fine production to boot. The brothers Antipholus and Dromio are
wonderfully matched, both as look-alikes and clowns, and Dr. Pinch
played his exorcism scene to marvelous effect. If you are or can be in
the neighborhood, it's a Comedy to remember and good for what ails you.
