Comedy of Errors is a toughie. There is the BBC version (see subsequent
BBC situation update), but beyond that, the Stratford Festival did a
version for television in 89 (with Geordie Johnson), which is for sale
for $24.95 Canadian through their website. Unfortunately, the Stratford
licensing agreement forbids them from wholeselling the video in Canada,
so we don't carry it at the moment, although with the way they have been
edging us out with their recent renovation plans, I am feeling rather
inclined to import them from the US and sell them anyway.

There is also a televised version done in 85 with the Flying Karamazov
Brothers which I would love to acquire, but which is sadly not
available. You might try the Lincoln Centre archives to see if you can
get a viewing
copy.

The IMDB also lists a version for this year, directed by Wendell Sweda,
whose only other apparent claim to fame is that he played "man at
breakfast table" in King of New York (1990). There is no official site
listed, so I don't know where to go for further info.

The Boys of Syracuse is also, sadly, out of print, but you might be able
to locate a copy through inter-library loans or from the AFI.

I am not familiar with the Peter Sellers version - but it appears to be
a short, and might be available on a compilation someplace. Send me
some info on it, and I'll see if I can track it down.

Cheers,

If nobody else does, may I recommend our own webpage (Shakespeare in
Europe)? For general links: http://www.unibas.ch/shine/SHINE_Links.htm
links related to Comedy of Errors:
