Subject:        BBC Update

I just spoke to Burton Cromer at the BBC.

He still says the BBC is not interested in distributing the Shakespeare
video series for home distribution because he doesn't think it will
"make money."  He did say that IF they were to do any of them, it would
only be the top five (i.e. the five most popular), to which I replied
that the top five would be a wonderful start.  The bottom line is that
the decision is his to make, and he doesn't care.  On the positive side,
he was quite happy to talk to me, and didn't call me any names.

If anyone knows of ANYONE highly placed in either the US or UK BBC
corporation, could you please e-mail me off list?  I am wondering if
perhaps what we need to do is find someone more important than Burton
and have THEM put pressure on him to release the series.  My e-mail is

Many thanks to everyone who called and harassed Burton over the past few
months.  The BBC is now fully aware of the passion behind this drive,
and now we have a foundation on which we can continue to pressure them.
