There are different parts of James' life that one may focus on. David
Bergeron has a recent book on the relationship and letters between
James, Robert Carr, and George Villiers: "King James and Letters of
Homoerotic Desire." Cambridge UP has a recent book in the series
Cambridge Texts in the History of Political Thought: "King James VI and
I: Political Writings" edited by Johann P. Somerville.
