I didn't explain this very well.

Alan's book came out before Taymor's film.  It does not discuss the film
or compare it to prior productions, thought I'd love to read Alan's
comments about this.  That's a hint Alan, you lurker, you.

I meant to say that I read Alan's book after seeing the film, and
spotted several things that had been done by a few prior stage
productions in three different countries.  Sorry for being obscure, but
I'm glad I've had another chance to mention Alan Dessen's terrific
book.  Shakespeare in Performance: Titus Andronicus, Manchester
University Press, distributed by St. Martin's in the USA.
