Subject:        Francis Barker Memorial Conference

FRANCIS BARKER MEMORIAL CONFERENCE

Saturday and Sunday, 20th and 21st January 2001 at the University of
Essex Organised by Simon Barker, Leon Burnett, Maurizio Calbi, Tracey
Hill, Peter Hulme

The conference will run from mid morning on Saturday to late afternoon
on Sunday.  Sessions will take place in the Lecture Theatre Block;
registration and refreshments in the LTB foyer.

Speakers
Speakers will include Terry Eagleton, Neil Lazarus, Robert Young,
Jonathan Sawday, Robert Clark, Gordon Brotherston, Jennifer Stone,
Angelika Michelis, Graham Pechey, Gesa Mackenthun, Richard Burt, and
Jerry Brotton.  When available, provisional programmes will be sent to
all those who've declared an interest in the conference; and will be
posted on the web-page of the Department of Literature
(www.essex.ac.uk/literature/).

Registration costs include morning coffee (Saturday and Sunday),
