Ralph Faulkner, an old Hollywood fencing instructor who served as
fencing double for many of the forties swashbucklers, had many
delightful swordplay anecdotes about the Hollywood fencers-who did their
own fencing and who used doubles and what was happening in the film.
Although he was nearly blind when I met him in the early 80's, he still
taught fencing by touch out of Faulkner Studios in Hollywood. A portion
of his studio area had been converted to an Equity waiver theatre.

Playwright Randy Ball was interviewing him with a plan to create a play
about him. I don't know if that ever came to fruition before Ralph
died. If it did, that might also provide some book material.
