Subject: Elizabeth Rex

I have been on this list for several years now. I am not a Shakespeare
Scholar, but I enjoy reading, listening to and watching Shakespeare
Plays. Living in Mexico I don't have many opportunities to see live
presentations of the plays, so I have to do with video, audio (all in
English). However, I have been lucky to have been at the Globe on four
occasions. I have also been to Stratford, England. All this to show that
I am very interested in Shakespeare. I even follow many of the
discussions on SHAKSPER....

My own specialty (Statistics) allowed me to spend a year and two Summers
at Waterloo, Ontario. Being less than an hour away from Stratford I was
able to attend several presentations. Evidently some have been much
better than others. This Summer I attended a play, not by Shakespeare,
called "Elizabeth Rex". It is described as: "A remarkable encounter
between William Shakespeare and his monarch". I really enjoyed this
play. You can see more on it at

http://www.stratford-festival.on.ca/

All the above just goes to say that I am surprised none of the real
Shakespeare scholars has said anything about it, neither in favor nor
against. I would like to have some opinions.

Enrique
