Subject: Question on VOLPONE Film
A few years ago I stumbled onto a clever take-off on Volpone that began
with an apparently rich man hiring actors to do Jonson's Volpone, and
then dismissed them after a few lines. The rest of the film was a
modernization of the plot involving three women concerned about
inheriting his money. I think Susan Hayward was in it, maybe David
Niven (or Rex Harrison?). Can anyone give me the title, and a source?
Thanks, Jim Anderson, SCSU.
