Hello All:

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival (www.orshakes.org) is doing a production
of "The Tempest" as part of its 2001 season, and the web site features
comments about performance choices the production will use. Of interest
to our discussion about line cuts may be the director's (at the moment,
I forget who this is) remarks about Miranda's comments to begin 1.2. The
director states that in an effort to show the storm through Miranda's
eyes, "I've restructured the first scene so that 15 or 20 of Miranda's
first lines are integrated into the opening tempest."

The web site has more of the director's comments about the play and its
upcoming production.
